On June 29, 2023, the University of Luzon took a significant step in ensuring its commitment to excellence in education by attending an orientation on the latest policies and guidelines set forth by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). The orientation presided by Officials from CHED Main Office, held via Microsoft Teams, has specifically focused on its Memorandum Order No. 06, S. 2023, which pertains to the grant of autonomous and deregulated status to private higher education institutions (HEIs). Primarily the event aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the new regulations and their implications for the University.

CHED Memorandum Order No. 06, S. 2023, released by the Commission on Higher Education, outlines the policies and guidelines for the grant of autonomous and deregulated status to private HEIs in the Philippines. These statuses are highly esteemed in the education sector, symbolizing an institution’s exceptional performance and commitment to quality education. By achieving autonomous or deregulated status, a University gains greater autonomy in decision-making, curriculum development, and resource management, further enhancing its ability to deliver excellent education.
