Demonstrating exceptional determination, resilience, and sportsmanship, the team brings pride and honor to the University and Region I as they successfully advanced to the Quarterfinals of the National PRISAA Games.
The team’s journey to the national stage began with an outstanding performance during the PRISAA Regional Games, where Princess Angela Reyes, who also holds the title of Miss University of Luzon 2025, demonstrated excellence both on and off the court alongside her sister, Sofia Margaret Reyes. The sister duo captured the Gold Medal in the Women’s Doubles Event. Their victory secured a coveted spot in the National PRISAA Games and highlighted the strength of the University of Luzon’s badminton program. Representing the University in other categories were Rhyenne Elyzza Banting in First Singles and Blessed Erguiza in Second Singles. Competing against some of the country’s top student-athletes, the team displayed remarkable skill, discipline, and perseverance throughout the tournament.
Their achievement reflects the countless hours of training, dedication, and sacrifice invested in preparing for one of the nation’s most prestigious collegiate sporting events. From their regional triumph to their impressive quarterfinal finish at the national level, the UL Lady Badminton Players proved that hard work and determination can lead to extraordinary accomplishments.
The University also extends its sincere appreciation to Prof. Daniel Xerxes Padrid for his unwavering commitment and leadership. Under his guidance, the athletes embodied the true spirit of sportsmanship and excellence. We as well express our heartfelt gratitude to the UL Institue of Sports and Physical Eduaction for its continuous support and dedication to the development of student-athletes. Their collective efforts have played a vital role in creating opportunities for students to excel both in sports and in their academic pursuits.
The success of the UL Women’s Badminton Team reflects the University’s commitment to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by encouraging active lifestyles, fostering mental toughness, and promoting overall wellness through participation in sports, SDG 4: Quality Education by providing student-athletes with opportunities to develop leadership, teamwork, discipline, and perseverance beyond the classroom, and SDG 5: Gender Equality by empowering women in sports, creating avenues for female athletes to excel, compete, and inspire future generations of young women to pursue their goals with confidence and determination.
The University of Luzon proudly celebrates the UL Lady Badminton Players for their inspiring performance at the National PRISAA Games 2026.
