The University of Luzon recognizes Kimberly Ann Aquino and Dr. Jordan H. Llego for presenting nursing research at the International Forum on Nursing Research, Education & Innovation (IFNE-2026), held virtually on September 11, 2026.

Aquino, a primary author, delivered an oral presentation titled “From Clinical Shock to Professional-Empathic Resilience: A Qualitative Content Analysis of Nursing Students’ Experiences with Dying and Deceased Patients.” The study was co-authored by Darwin Toralba Jr. and Jimmer Ann Tamondong.

The research examines nursing students’ experiences in caring for dying and deceased patients, focusing on how these emotionally challenging clinical encounters shape their empathy, resilience, and professional growth. By examining these experiences, the study offers insights that can help strengthen nursing education and prepare future nurses for the demands of patient care.

The University of Luzon also recognizes Dr. Jordan H. Llego for serving as a Scientific Committee Member of IFNE-2026. His participation reflects his contribution to nursing research and education, alongside the University’s efforts to support research-based learning and professional development.

The study and its presentation contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through research and education that support better health practices and professional learning. SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being is supported through efforts to strengthen nursing practice and prepare future healthcare professionals to provide responsive patient care. SDG 4: Quality Education is promoted through evidence-based learning and professional education that help nursing students develop the knowledge, empathy, and practical skills needed in clinical settings.

The University of Luzon congratulates Aquino, Toralba, Tamondong, and Dr. Llego on their contributions to nursing research and education. Their work supports continued learning in the nursing profession and adds to discussions on preparing future nurses for the emotional and professional demands of patient care.
