OSIA WITH SHAWN

A new international learning experience began for Ms. Crisantafe Osia, a third-year Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management student of the University of Luzon, through the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) Program.

Ms. Osia departed for Canada on September 1, 2026, to take part in a student mobility program at New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) during its Fall Semester. Her participation gives her the opportunity to gain international exposure, strengthen her skills, and connect her professional education with learning beyond the local setting.

She arrived safely in Moncton, New Brunswick, on September 3. Dr. Shawn Ethier, Director for Global Partnerships at NBCC, welcomed and picked her up upon arrival, helping her begin her stay in Canada.

The University of Luzon extends its gratitude to NBCC for the support given to Ms. Osia as she starts this academic experience. The University also recognizes the support of her family, whose presence and encouragement accompanied her before her departure. With the support of the College of Business Administration, led by Dean Dr. Amalia G. Dela Cruz, UL continues to provide students with opportunities for international learning and professional growth.

International academic experiences help students build human capital and prepare for changing opportunities in the labor market. The University’s participation in the SEED Program contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education by providing meaningful learning opportunities in an international setting; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by helping students develop skills for future employment; SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities by widening access to global educational opportunities; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through cooperation between the University of Luzon and NBCC.

Congratulations, Ms. Crisantafe! May your stay in Canada bring valuable lessons and memorable experiences.
