The University of Luzon recognizes the research contributions of its librarians, whose published work examines library users’ perceptions of library resources, services, and physical facilities.

The research paper, titled “Library Customers’ Perception on Library Resources, Services, and Physical Facilities: Basis for Library Enhancement Plan,” was published in the International Journal of Research and Innovation in Social Science on September 17, 2026.

The study provides a basis for identifying areas where library services and facilities can be improved to meet users’ educational needs.

Dr. Lorena U. Ontangco, Chief Librarian, led the research with co-authors Mrs. Imelda D. Fabito and Ms. Lea N. Del Campo, members of the UL Library staff. Their work reflects the role of research development in assessing library services and supporting better learning experiences.

The team submitted the paper on August 1, 2026, and received acceptance on August 6, 2026. Following the journal’s review process, the authors addressed the feedback and recommendations through revisions before the paper was published.

The findings can help guide improvements in library infrastructure, access to learning resources, and the delivery of services that support students and other library users.

The librarians’ research contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through knowledge development and improved access to educational resources. SDG 4: Quality Education is supported by research that helps strengthen learning opportunities and library services. SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure is advanced through research-based improvements in facilities and service systems.

Congratulations to Dr. Ontangco, Mrs. Fabito, Ms. Del Campo, and the UL Library team on this published research contribution!
