University of Luzon Hosts Distinguished PACE University Speakers

Global perspectives in forensic science, digital innovation, and creative branding reached the University of Luzon community through a special lecture series featuring distinguished speakers from PACE University in New York City, USA, on July 10, 2026. Held at the UL Multi-Purpose Hall, the program brought together students and faculty members from different college departmentsd for discussions on emerging practices and ideas relevant to their areas of study and work.
The morning session featured Dr. Elmer-Rico E. Mojica, DOST Balik Scientist, and Professor and Associate Program Director of the Forensic Science Program at PACE University. His lecture, “Forensic Analytical Instrumentation: Bridging Crime Scene Investigation and Courtroom Evidence,” explored the use of scientific methods and analytical instruments in crime scene investigation and the presentation of evidence in court. His discussion highlighted the value of evidence-based approaches in supporting justice and professional practice.
The afternoon session featured Geoffrey Matthew Palomares Mojica, a PACE University graduate, filmmaker, visual storyteller, and digital marketing professional. Through “How to Build a Brand with Artistic Sensibility in an AI-Driven Market,” he discussed authenticity, creativity, passion, and purpose in developing a personal brand while navigating new technologies and changing digital platforms.
The lecture series also gave participants practical knowledge that can support professional education, career development, and the responsible use of technology. It further encouraged active learning and wider academic engagement through international exchange.
The discussions connect with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. SDG 4: Quality Education is advanced through learning opportunities that bring global knowledge into the University community. SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure is supported by the seminar’s discussions on forensic technology, artificial intelligence, and digital innovation. SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions is reinforced through the focus on scientific evidence and ethical forensic practice. SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals is reflected in the academic collaboration between the University of Luzon and PACE University.
