The University of Luzon Golden Tigers Karate-Do Team continues to develop its skills and discipline through regular training, with team members earning promotions to higher belt ranks.

The SKIF Dagupan City Belt Rank Promotion took place on September 18, 2026, at the University of Luzon Gym. The promotion was headed by Sensei Dante A. De Castro and Sensei Bong Ireneo F. Soriano of the Shotokan Karate-Do International Federation (SKIF) Dagupan City.

Three team members advanced to the Brown Belt: Mark Joseph Soriano, Danica Bautista, and Adrian Ignacio.

Meanwhile, eleven team members earned their Purple Belts: Analyn M. Dela Cruz, Stephanie Kate H. Macalanda, Renz Villacorta, Mac Bervic O. Corla, John Troy Cuison, Michelle Rosario, Marjosh Conception, Juan Carlo Juan, Aine Mark Patayan, Liezel Mae Caole, and Christian Catalan.

The promotions recognize the athletes’ dedication to their practice and their continued progress in Karate-Do. Purple Belt holders move further into the advanced levels of their training, while Brown Belt holders prepare for the next stage toward Black Belt. Both ranks call for continued discipline, humility, and respect for the principles of the martial art.

The University of Luzon congratulates its Karate-Do Team Members on their new ranks and encourages them to carry the values they learn through sports into their academic and personal lives.

UL’s support in practicing Karate-Do reinforces holistic student development through physical activity and practical training.
