The two universities formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement signing on September 30, 2026, at the University of Luzon. The agreement provides a foundation for academic cooperation and shared learning opportunities between the institutions.
The partnership focuses on faculty and student exchange, joint research, and educational activities. Through these efforts, UL and UNISMUH aim to create opportunities for their faculty and students to gain international exposure, share knowledge, and participate in collaborative academic programs that respond to educational needs.
The program also featured a lecture series with presentations from representatives of both universities. The discussions covered research, teaching, technology, education, and sustainability, including ways to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals into academic work. Presentations also highlighted UL’s practices and the role of local wisdom in strengthening students’ cultural literacy.
The visit further supported academic interaction between the institutions, opening opportunities to exchange ideas and explore approaches that can enrich teaching and research. These connections can help both universities develop learning activities and research projects that respond to changing educational needs.
The partnership supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through shared knowledge, research, and international cooperation. SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure is supported by collaborative research and innovation that encourage new approaches to education.
