University of Luzon Delegates Showcase Their Expertise in Four Events at Timpuyog ti Amianan 2026

The University of Luzon joined fellow higher education institutions at Timpuyog ti Amianan 2026: ASEAN Conference and Competitions, held on October 5 and 6, 2026, at the University of Northern Philippines Gymnasium in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. The gathering provided opportunities for academic exchange, skills development, and friendly competition among participating institutions.
On October 5, UL delegates attended the conference activities and prepared to represent the University in the ASEAN Debate Cup and ASEAN Mobility Experience Challenge. These activities encouraged critical thinking, communication, and the sharing of ideas beyond the classroom.
The following day, UL representatives competed in the ASEAN Culinary Showcase and Debate Cup, while staff mobility participants took part in presentations. The culinary team earned 1st Runner-Up in the Ube Reimagined showcase, presenting a creative take on a distinctly Filipino ingredient. Meanwhile, the UL Debate Team ranked 7th out of 14 participating teams, finishing with 755.5 points. Dr. Sherryl D. Delos Santos and Dr. Carmelo John E. Vidal also emerged as finalists in their respective staff mobility presentations.
Through these activities, the University of Luzon supports learning, cultural exchange, and collaboration among higher education institutions. Its participation contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 4: Quality Education through practical learning and skills development; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through culinary creativity and innovation; SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities through cultural appreciation and regional exchange; SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions through respectful debate and freedom of expression; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through institutional connections and professional knowledge-sharing.
