University of Luzon CONM Faculty Member Publishes Nursing Research in Acta Medica Philippina

Research and professional education continue to grow at the University of Luzon through the scholarly work of its faculty members. Mr. Deniel Manzano, Clinical Instructor and SPN Lecturer from the College of Nursing and Midwifery, recently had his research published in Acta Medica Philippina.
The study, titled “Stepping into the Academe: The Lived Experience of Adjunct Novice Nurse Faculty,” was officially published on July 31, 2026. It explores the lived experiences of novice nurse faculty members entering the academic setting and offers insights relevant to professional education and nursing teaching.
The research was first submitted in May 2025 and underwent two rounds of revisions before its publication. This process reflects the tedious effort, patience, and persistence poured into the study, with the research group carefully working through each round of review and revision to strengthen their work and finally see their research reach publication.
The study was originally completed as Mr. Manzano’s undergraduate thesis with fellow researchers while he was pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Saint Louis University in Baguio City. After the group completed the study, they later refined and revised the research before it was successfully published in Acta Medica Philippina.
At the University of Luzon, research continues to support learning and the development of professional skills among educators and students. Mr. Manzano’s publication adds to the University’s growing body of scholarly work while connecting nursing education with practical experiences in the field.
Research and education can contribute to better knowledge and stronger professional practice. The work supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through SDG 4: Quality Education by contributing to professional education and teaching quality. SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being is advanced through research related to nursing and human health. SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure is supported through research development and the sharing of new knowledge through scholarly publication.
