The University of Luzon congratulates Dr. Maria Teresa A. Estrada for her contributions to educational research through two newly published articles that explore innovative teaching methods and student learning.

Her first article, “Effectiveness of the MLSKit in Enhancing Students’ Scientific Competency on Light Refraction,” was published in the International Journal of Education, Research, and Innovation Perspectives. She co-authored the paper with Jonathan I. Puyawan. The study examines the effectiveness of MLSKit in helping students develop their understanding of light refraction and scientific concepts.

Her second article, “Effectiveness of Interactive Punnett Square Simulations on Students’ Learning Performance in Non-Mendelian Genetics,” was published in BAMBOO NEXUS: Journal of Innovation, Education, and Climate Action. Co-authored with Aurielyn B. Mangawa, the research explores how interactive simulations can support student learning in genetics.

Both studies highlight the role of research development in evaluating teaching approaches and finding ways to improve learning experiences. Through these publications, Dr. Estrada contributes to the growing body of educational research that can help teachers make informed decisions about classroom strategies and learning activities.

These research contributions support the broader goals of education and innovation through evidence-based teaching practices. The University of Luzon advances the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through scholarly work that supports better learning and the development of new teaching approaches. SDG 4: Quality Education is supported by research that examines methods for improving students’ scientific understanding and academic performance. SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure is advanced through innovative educational strategies that encourage the use of interactive tools in teaching and learning.

Congratulations, Dr. Estrada, on your two published research articles! The University of Luzon celebrates your contribution to educational research and the continued development of teaching practices.
