University of Luzon College of Education Strengthens Collaboration for Teacher Education

Strengthening teacher preparation requires meaningful coordination among institutions that share the goal of developing capable future educators. University of Luzon took part in the 5th Teacher Education Institutions Convergence and Ceremonial Signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for Field Studies and Teaching Internship, held on August 19–20, 2026.
The activity took place at DepEd NEAP Region 1 in San Vicente, City of San Fernando, La Union. It brought together Teacher Education Institutions and education stakeholders to discuss educational needs, teaching quality, and ways to improve preparation for future teachers.
Representing the University of Luzon were Mr. Prince Ryan E. Macaraeg and Mr. Rhean Mark O. Urayan. Their participation connected UL with fellow Teacher Education Institutions and partner agencies working to provide meaningful Field Studies and Teaching Internship experiences.
The convergence was organized by the Region 1 Teacher Education Advisory Council (RITEAC) in collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office I (CHED RO I) and the Department of Education Regional Office I (DepEd RO I). The ceremonial MOA signing further established a shared framework for supporting students during their practical training and internship experiences.
Through the University’s participation, UL continues to strengthen professional education by connecting academic preparation with practical training. These partnerships also give future educators opportunities to develop skills that can support their career development and work in the school environment.
The collaboration supports broader efforts to improve teacher preparation and create stronger pathways from learning to practice. These efforts contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. SDG 4: Quality Education is advanced through practical training and stronger teacher preparation. SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth is supported through professional training that develops skills for future employment. SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals is strengthened through cooperation among University of Luzon, CHED RO I, DepEd RO I, RITEAC, and fellow Teacher Education Institutions.
