University of Luzon College of Computer Studies Hosts 14th ICT Congress on Agentic AI and Quantum Computing

New technologies are changing how people learn, conduct research, and address challenges in society. Exploring these developments, the University of Luzon held its 14th ICT Congress on August 27–28, 2026, under the theme “Agentic AI and Quantum Computing: Transforming the Future of Education, Research, and Society.”
The two-day congress took place at the UL Multi-Purpose Hall, bringing together students, faculty members, technology enthusiasts, and industry experts for discussions and activities on emerging technologies.
The first day featured competitions in Programming, Quiz Bee, Digital Poster Making, Digital Innovation Ads, and Hardware Servicing. These activities gave students opportunities to apply their knowledge, develop their technological capabilities, and demonstrate their problem-solving skills. The program also included discussions on research development and the role of innovation in addressing current and future needs.
The opening program of the second day began with a welcome message from Prof. Angel S. Reyna, Director of International Relations of the University. Dr. Diosdado C. Caronongan, Dean of the College of Computer Studies, introduced the event and discussed the importance of emerging technologies in education and society. Engr. Arnorld C. Santos, Provincial Director of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), was represented by Mr. Michael John C. Maquiling, Supervising Science Research Specialist, who delivered the keynote message.
Plenary sessions of Day 2 featured Dr. Prince Chukunalu Edike of Artea Green Ventures, Mr. Tzar Umang of Makerspace InnovHub OPC, and Mr. Ranuj Vinson Soriano of ULCCS-Web and Android Developers, who shared their insights on technology and innovation.
The congress supported the University’s efforts to provide relevant learning opportunities and encourage technological exploration. It contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education through active learning and the development of students’ skills; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure by promoting research development and technological innovation; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through knowledge-sharing among the University, industry experts, and participants.
