Leading Stroke Care Excellence Through Compassion, Leadership, and Service
The University of Luzon proudly celebrates the achievements of Bessie Joy Guardiana, RN, MAN, a distinguished alumna whose dedication to nursing excellence continues to make a meaningful impact on patient care and healthcare leadership in the region.
A graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at the University of Luzon (Class of 2014) and later a Master of Arts in Nursing graduate in 2022, Bessie Joy has built an impressive career marked by professional competence, compassionate service, and continuous growth.
Currently serving as a Nurse Supervisor and Plantilla Nurse at Region I Medical Center (RIMC), she has become a recognized leader in stroke care management and nursing development. Her expertise in neurological and stroke patient care has earned her numerous distinctions and leadership roles within the healthcare community.
Among her notable achievements, Bessie Joy was appointed in 2025 as Nurse Leader of the Luzon Chapter of the Stroke Society of the Philippines and as Head Nurse of the Acute Stroke Unit. In 2024, she was recognized as the GAD-HCPW Champion of the Nursing Division for the Stroke Prevention and Control Program, highlighting her commitment to quality healthcare and patient advocacy.
Her professional credentials further demonstrate her dedication to excellence. She is a Certified Stroke Nurse Master, an ACLS-trained healthcare professional certified by the American Heart Association, and serves as a Stroke Champion for Quality Stroke Registry initiatives. She also plays vital roles in quality management systems, gender and development programs, and stroke unit coordination within RIMC.
