3.3.7 Mental Health Support for Staff
The University of Luzon annually conducts its Mental Health Support and Seminar, an initiative intended for both teaching and non-teaching staff. This program is also part of the General Faculty Orientation and the Non-Teaching Personnel Orientation, ensuring that all staff members are equipped with the knowledge and skills to maintain their mental well-being in the workplace.
The University of Luzon conducted its Mental Health Support and Seminar in February 2024, an initiative for both teaching and non-teaching staff. The program, which was also part of the General Faculty Orientation and the Non-Teaching Personnel Orientation, aimed to equip staff members with strategies to maintain their mental well-being in the workplace.
The seminar addressed various workplace challenges that can negatively impact mental health. Participants were guided on stress management, maintaining work-life balance, and fostering a supportive environment among colleagues. Emphasis was placed on recognizing early signs of burnout, coping with workplace pressures, and accessing available mental health resources.
To keep up with the evolving professional landscape, the seminar integrated the use of digital tools that enhance productivity while minimizing stress. Staff members learned about applications for time management, communication, and mindfulness, enabling them to maintain mental wellness in both physical and virtual workspaces.
Through interactive workshops and discussions, participants from different departments gained practical strategies and interventions that can be applied daily. The program not only promoted individual well-being but also strengthened the overall work culture of the university, encouraging resilience, collaboration, and mutual support.
