3.3.6 Smoke-Free Policy

The University of Luzon maintains a continuing commitment to create a safe, clean, and healthy environment for its entire community. As part of this ongoing effort, the university upholds a comprehensive smoke free policy that prohibits smoking in all indoor and outdoor areas on campus. This policy protects students, staff, and visitors from the harmful effects of secondhand smoke, which can lead to respiratory illnesses, heart disease, and certain cancers. By limiting exposure to smoke, the university promotes healthier lifestyle choices and strengthens a culture of care and responsibility. The smoke free environment also supports cleaner air, a more pleasant academic atmosphere, and a campus where wellness is prioritized every day. Through this sustained initiative, the University of Luzon continues to demonstrate its dedication to safeguarding health and ensuring that the campus remains a place where everyone can thrive.

The Smoke-Free Policy is incorporated in the Institution’s Student Manual, Faculty Manual and Non-Teaching Personnel Handbook.

Below is an excerpt from the memo of the University President.
