The College of Computer Studies (ULCCS) at the University of Luzon concluded its Educational Tour 2025 on September 16, a comprehensive journey designed to expose students to cutting-edge technologies and industry practices. The initiative, which provided a meaningful blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application, offered Luzonians a glimpse into how their academic pursuits translate into real-world professional environments.

The tour commenced with a visit to Hytec Power Inc., where students were introduced to advanced training kits focused on information technology. This was followed by an exploration of Direc Business Inc., which provided a practical demonstration of how artificial intelligence is leveraged to transform modern system design and development. The itinerary also included several new and enriching destinations, broadening the scope of the educational experience. Students had the opportunity to visit the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant, gaining insight into the country’s energy infrastructure, and the DOST-PAGASA (Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration), which provided a look into meteorological and astronomical sciences. A visit to the Law Enforcement Department at Subic Bay offered a unique perspective on technology’s role in public safety and security.

A key highlight of the tour was a specialized on-site seminar at HPI CyberTech Institute Inc. Industry experts led discussions on critical cybersecurity topics, including the principles of red teaming versus blue teaming, ethical hacking methodologies, and the evolving landscape of Agentic AI. The seminar served as a crucial platform for students to deepen their understanding of these complex subjects and to engage directly with professionals at the forefront of the field. The tour’s emphasis on cybersecurity aligns with the university’s commitment to equipping students with the skills needed to address modern digital challenges.

The tour culminated with a reaffirmation of the strategic partnership between the University of Luzon and Hytec Power Inc. The Dean underscored the significance of the recently signed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), which is set to create new avenues for collaboration and opportunities for future batches of Luzonians. This strengthened partnership is a testament to the university’s proactive approach in forging relationships that directly benefit student career readiness and academic excellence.

These educational activities are a direct reflection of the University of Luzon’s commitment to fostering a holistic learning environment that extends beyond the traditional classroom setting. The tour’s focus on industry partnerships and exposure to emerging technologies is a strong alignment with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, the initiative supports SDG 4: Quality Education by providing inclusive and equitable learning opportunities that promote lifelong learning. By strengthening ties with industry leaders, the university contributes to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, ensuring that students are prepared for future employment and can contribute to a productive workforce. Lastly, the emphasis on innovation and technology in the field trips, particularly in cybersecurity and AI, aligns with SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, as it fosters a robust and resilient technological foundation for the future.
