The University of Luzon (UL) has been officially recognized in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, a significant achievement that underscores the university’s commitment to global excellence. The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) extended its warmest congratulations to all Philippine Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs) that were included in the overall rankings.

In celebration of this milestone, CHED hosted a special event titled “Ranked & Recognized: A Celebration of PHEIs” on June 24, 2025, at the Auditorium of the CHED Central Office in Diliman, Quezon City. The event, which included a celebratory dinner, recognized the outstanding achievements of the ranked institutions. University of Luzon was proudly listed among the universities that achieved a ranking of 1501+.

The gathering also featured a presentation of the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) Times Higher Education (THE) Dashboard Project. This pioneering data initiative aims to guide and support PHEIs in enhancing their global standing, fostering a collaborative environment for continuous improvement within the Philippine higher education sector. The presence of university presidents and representatives at this event greatly contributes to the continued strengthening of Philippine higher education in the global arena.

For Luzonians, this recognition highlights the University of Luzon’s dedication to providing quality education and its growing influence on a global scale. This achievement is a testament to the collective efforts of the entire UL community.

The recognition of the University of Luzon in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings and its participation in CHED’s celebratory event align with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, this achievement contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education, by demonstrating a commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement in higher education. Furthermore, the collaborative efforts among PHEIs, as highlighted by the MMSU THE Dashboard Project, support SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing to enhance global standing in education.
