The University of Luzon is proud to announce that a cohort of its dedicated Level IV Bachelor of Science in Nursing students will participate in the Unity Link for Clinical Opportunities in Nursing Mobility (ULCONM) program in Indonesia from April 13 to 18, 2025. This initiative underscores the university’s commitment to providing its Luzonians with transformative global learning experiences.

The ULCONM program offers a unique opportunity for these aspiring healthcare professionals to gain invaluable international exposure and enhance their clinical skills in a diverse healthcare setting. Three of the participating student nurses shared their enthusiasm and expectations for this groundbreaking immersion:

Claire Ugale, SN-IV, expressed her anticipation: “This is such an exciting chance for me/us to learn, grow, and see nursing from a whole new perspective as we begin our very first immersion in Indonesia.” Her sentiment highlights the desire for expanded knowledge and a broader understanding of nursing practices beyond the familiar.

Francine Joy Zaulda, SN-IV, reflected on the significance of the program: “Honored to take part in the clinical immersion in Indonesia! Excited to step out of my comfort zone, learn from a new healthcare system, and connect with amazing people along the way. Here’s to new friends, new skills, and unforgettable memories!” Ms. Zaulda’s statement emphasizes the personal and professional growth anticipated through exposure to a new environment and diverse interactions.

John Erwin Salting, SN-IV, articulated the profound impact he expects: “This experience will help me improve academically and personally, which will influence how I see the world in the future.” Mr. Salting’s perspective underscores the potential for this immersion to shape not only his professional capabilities but also his worldview.

These future nurses are not merely preparing for clinical immersion; they are poised to become global changemakers, equipped with a comprehensive understanding of healthcare delivery in an international context. The University of Luzon is confident that this experience will significantly contribute to their development as compassionate, skilled, and globally-minded healthcare providers.

This initiative directly contributes to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By fostering international educational exchange and enhancing healthcare training, it supports SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, as it aims to improve the quality of future healthcare professionals who will contribute to better health outcomes globally. The emphasis on learning from a new healthcare system and expanding perspectives aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education, promoting inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities. Furthermore, by building partnerships and fostering cross-cultural understanding, the program contributes to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, strengthening the means of implementation and revitalizing the global partnership for sustainable development.
