The University of Luzon-College of Nursing and Midwifery, was proudly represented by Professor Denver B. Sandoval at the 65th ADPCN National Convention held on October 6, 2024, at the Manila Hotel. The prestigious event, themed “Strengthening Quality Assurance in Nursing Education for a Sustainable Health Workforce,” brought together nursing educators, administrators, and leaders from across the Philippines.
Professor Sandoval presented his research paper, “Knowledge and Responsiveness of Nurses Towards Health Care Reform on Nurse Entrepreneurship,” examining how equipping nurses with entrepreneurial skills and healthcare reform knowledge can help them address industry challenges more innovatively. His study emphasizes the potential for entrepreneurial thinking to enhance adaptability, professional growth, and healthcare delivery.
UL supports initiatives like this convention as they align closely with its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By advancing the quality of nursing education and encouraging innovation in healthcare, UL makes a significant contribution to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), preparing nurses who are equipped to enhance health outcomes and respond to the dynamic needs of the healthcare sector. Additionally, UL champions SDG 4 (Quality Education) by ensuring that its nursing graduates are well-prepared with the essential knowledge, skills, and values needed for a resilient and effective healthcare workforce.
Furthermore, UL’s active participation in events like the ADPCN National Convention demonstrates its dedication to SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering collaboration and building partnerships with other nursing institutions across the Philippines. By engaging in these partnerships, UL strengthens the collective capacity of the nursing community to address global health challenges and support sustainable development initiatives.
Through these efforts, the University of Luzon is not only shaping the future of nursing education but also contributing to the broader goals of global health, quality education, and sustainable development.
