The University of Luzon is proud to announce its alignment with a significant new partnership in global nursing. On July 5, 2025, the Pacific Nursing Service Organization (PNSO) and the Celebes Nursing Journal (CNJ) officially forged a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in a virtual ceremony. This collaboration marks a pivotal moment for advancing nursing scholarship, leadership, and professional development on a global scale, and the University of Luzon encourages its nursing students and faculty to take full advantage of the opportunities this alliance presents.

The virtual signing commenced with a solemn invocation, underscoring the shared values of compassion, humility, and service that both organizations embody. This tone set the stage for a purposeful alliance dedicated to elevating nursing practice and empowering healthcare professionals across the Pacific region and beyond.

Dr. Patria Manalaysay, President of PNSO, emphasized the profound significance of the agreement, stating, “This MOU is more than a document—it is a pledge to support, collaborate, and inspire. Together, we will open more doors for nurses to grow, lead, and leave a mark globally.”

Professor Jordan Llego, RN, PhD, Associate Editor of CNJ, echoed this sentiment, remarking, “We are honored to collaborate with PNSO in advancing nursing research and innovation. This agreement provides a platform for Filipino nurses to gain global recognition and contribute meaningfully to healthcare excellence.”

The MOU outlines several key shared goals:
• Enhancing the professional development of Filipino nurses.
• Increasing research dissemination and scholarly publication.
• Promoting innovation and global leadership in nursing practice.
• Fostering mentorship and access to educational resources.

The virtual ceremony was attended by esteemed representatives from both organizations, symbolizing their unified vision and purpose. This partnership serves as a testament to the transformative potential of global collaboration, demonstrating that when organizations unite in service and scholarship, they empower not only professionals but entire communities. Luzonians are encouraged to explore the avenues for growth and contribution that this partnership will undoubtedly create.

This collaboration between the Pacific Nursing Service Organization and the Celebes Nursing Journal directly aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, it contributes to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by enhancing the quality of nursing practice and promoting healthcare excellence. Furthermore, it supports SDG 4: Quality Education through its focus on professional development, mentorship, and access to educational resources. Lastly, the partnership embodies SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by fostering international collaboration to address global challenges in healthcare and education.
