University of Luzon Hosts Calculator Techniques Seminar for Freshmen

The University of Luzon’s College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA-AIT) successfully hosted a “Calculator Techniques Seminar for Freshmen” on August 7, 2025, at the University of Luzon Multipurpose Hall. The event was specifically designed to equip first-year students with essential problem-solving strategies and advanced calculator skills crucial for their academic success in engineering and architecture disciplines.

The seminar featured esteemed speakers from the Calculator Mathematics Society of the Philippines, including its Founder and President, Engr. Reynold Agustin, and Marketing Arm Assistant, Mr. Mark B. Castillo. They provided invaluable insights and practical techniques that empower students to approach complex mathematical problems with greater efficiency and confidence. The event also received support from Karce Calculator Philippines, represented by Product Manager Mr. Thadeus Diosa and Marketing Assistant Mr. JL Rangel, who contributed to the seminar’s practical demonstrations.

The program was formally opened with a welcome address from Engr. Geronimo A. Carvajal, Dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture. The day’s agenda included a doxology, the National Hymn, and the UL Hymn, setting a dignified and inspiring tone. The Masters of Ceremonies, Justin Lawrence Arias and Darlene Joy Ocampo, ensured a smooth flow of the program. The seminar concluded with the awarding of certificates to the participants and closing remarks from Engr. Joey D. Manuel.
