The University of Luzon (UL) officially commenced a significant international partnership with Huachiew Chalermprakiet University (HCU) of Thailand yesterday, May 20, 2052, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This landmark agreement aims to foster academic excellence, mutual growth, and international cooperation between the two institutions.

Dr. Angel Samson Reyna Jr., Director for International Relations at the University of Luzon, delivered a keynote speech highlighting the importance of this collaboration. “This MOU marks not only a formal agreement but also the joining of hearts and minds dedicated to academic excellence, mutual growth, and international cooperation,” Dr. Reyna stated. He extended his gratitude to Dr. Jonathan Carreon and Dean Ester Vedaña for their instrumental roles in facilitating this partnership.

The MOU is expected to pave the way for various collaborative initiatives, including student and faculty exchange programs, joint research projects, and cultural exchange activities. These endeavors are designed to enrich the academic experience for Luzonians and HCU students alike, broaden perspectives, and contribute to the global academic landscape.

This partnership significantly contributes to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By fostering academic excellence and mutual growth, it aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education, promoting inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities. The emphasis on international cooperation and building bridges of knowledge directly supports SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, encouraging effective public, public-private, and civil society partnerships. Furthermore, by fostering cultural understanding, the collaboration indirectly contributes to SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, as mutual understanding and respect are foundational to peaceful and inclusive societies.
