The University of Luzon (UL) Graduate School is delighted to announce the remarkable achievement of one of its esteemed faculty members and three distinguished alumni, who recently presented their research at the 11th International Conference on Education in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference, held from April 7 to 9, 2025, focused on the theme “Cultivating Global Citizens’ Skills through Research and Education.”

Dr. Imelda E. Cuartel, Coordinator of the MAED/MED Program, represented the UL faculty with her significant contributions. She was joined by three exceptional alumni: Dr. Marcelo S. Reyes, Dr. Leah L. Olua, and Dr. Mary Lucena G. Tagama. Their successful presentations at this prestigious international forum underscore their commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering global academic discourse.

The participation of these individuals at such a prominent international conference is a testament to the high caliber of research being conducted within the UL Graduate School and the impactful contributions of its graduates. Their dedication to scholarly inquiry and their active engagement in global academic conversations not only elevate the standing of the University of Luzon but also serve as a profound source of inspiration for current and prospective Luzonians.

The University of Luzon community extends its sincerest congratulations to Dr. Cuartel, Dr. Reyes, Dr. Olua, and Dr. Tagama for their outstanding achievements. Their endeavors exemplify the university’s commitment to academic excellence and its mission to produce globally competent scholars. We eagerly anticipate their continued success and further contributions to the field of education.

These achievements directly contribute to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By presenting research at an international conference, Dr. Cuartel and the alumni are actively contributing to SDG 4: Quality Education, through the dissemination of knowledge and the promotion of lifelong learning opportunities. Their engagement in global discourse also fosters international cooperation in education, aligning with targets under SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Furthermore, the emphasis on “Cultivating Global Citizens’ Skills through Research and Education” directly supports the development of skills and perspectives necessary for addressing global challenges, which is integral to achieving a sustainable future for all.
