UL and PSU Strengthen Academic Ties through MOU Signing

The event took place during PSU’s Foundation Day celebration, a significant occasion where the university reinforces existing collaborations and establishes new partnerships.
The MOU was signed by Dr. Elbert M. Galas, President of PSU, and Mr. Luis Angelo B. Samson IV, Executive Secretary to the President of UL, representing Dr. Luis M. Samson Jr. The signing ceremony was a highlight of the “PSU Stakeholder’s Night,” a gathering of key stakeholders and partners of the university.
The MOU outlines a broad range of areas for collaboration between UL and PSU, including resource sharing, research, conferences, seminars, internships, student and faculty exchange, technical consultancies, joint education programs (from bachelor to doctoral degrees), and other activities that will contribute to the academic development of both institutions.
This partnership aligns with the strategic goals of both universities, fostering a more interconnected and collaborative academic landscape in the region. By leveraging their respective strengths and expertise, UL and PSU can offer a wider range of educational opportunities for their students and faculty.
The MOU also contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For instance, the focus on research and innovation supports SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. The collaboration on education and training aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education. Additionally, the partnership can foster cultural exchange and understanding, contributing to SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.
