Bachelor of Science in Architecture
The Bachelor of Science in Architecture at the University of Luzon College of Engineering and Architecture – AIT is a comprehensive five-year degree program designed to prepare students for careers in the architectural profession. This program combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, providing students with a strong foundation in design, construction, and the social, cultural, and environmental factors that influence architectural practice.
The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including architectural design, building technology, history and theory of architecture, urban planning, sustainable design, and project management. Students are trained in the technical and artistic aspects of architecture, from designing functional and aesthetically pleasing structures to understanding the principles of structural integrity, environmental sustainability, and cost-effective construction. Emphasis is placed on hands-on experience through design studios, internships, and collaborative projects that allow students to apply their learning in real-world contexts.
The program integrates the latest technological advancements in architecture, such as digital modeling, Building Information Modeling (BIM) using MIDAS Software, and 3D visualization, ensuring that graduates are well-equipped to meet the demands of modern architecture. Students also explore architectural ethics, building regulations, and professional practice to prepare for the responsibilities they will encounter as licensed architects.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Architecture program are prepared to take the Philippine Licensure Examination for Architects (LEA), which is required to practice as a licensed architect in the Philippines. With a broad understanding of design, construction, and sustainability, graduates of this course are equipped to work in various sectors, including private practice, government agencies, construction firms, and design consultancies. They are capable of leading the development of innovative architectural solutions that meet the needs of diverse communities and contribute to the built environment.
