College of Accountancy

Each of us has its own interest, and it’s interesting to note that the UL has been an indispensable partner in the development of our nation’s special interests and its resources.” – Prof. Renante D. Balocating, CPA

The College of Accounting prides itself with its four (4) academic programs, namely Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (4 years), Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting (4 years), Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology (3 and ½ years with 3 summer terms) and Enhancement Programs for Information Technology Skills Enhancement.

Renowned as one of the best producers of the highest number of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) in Region 1, the University of Luzon’s College of Accountancy also serves as the home of topnotch CPAs since 1952 when its first batch of graduates registered a 100% passing rate. Indeed, such recognition is worthy of note, especially for young people who are about to enter this field.

To sustain the college’s legacy, all programs are regularly updated to adapt to the modern world’s growing complexities. In fact, compliance with the International Accounting Education Standards and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) minimum requirements are also being faithfully pursued to make sure its graduates do not wrestle with their careers or business because of their competitiveness, even in the global market.

Therefore, with the strong foundational support from the general management coupled with the best professors and the use of modern technology and approach, committed students are anticipated to be liberally educated accountants who can think and write clearly, effectively, and critically.

It also prepares them to become total business advisors, who are knowledgeable with business structures and economic concepts; and trains them to be ethically and technically competent in the field of accounting and auditing.

Furthermore, the four academic programs which comprised the 21st century curriculum enhance the students’ level of understanding from basic up to its most complex studies. With this, learners in this field are rigorously developed to be the next generation of young minds who are also bound to be world-class lawyers, judges, tax accountants, internal auditors, treasurers, credit control managers, financial officers, financial analysts, risk managers and other related fields in public or private firms and corporations.

“Our graduates can easily find a job, whatever or wherever they want to, and some of them even become their own boss, here and abroad. And all of these are made possible, because their future has been our business,” said Balocating, the college’s dean.

Throughout the years, the College of Accountancy serves as the home base and support for the graduates and future CPAs as they put in practice the UL’s spirit through its core principle, “Perecias y Valias” (skills and values) in helping the people and government as the noble way to contribute to nation building.
