Absences and Tardiness
All employees are expected to report for work punctually and regularly. An employce is considered absent when he is not physically present in his work area unless he is sent on an official business outside his work area. Unexcused absences are those not covered by approved leave applications. However, if an employee is absent due to illness or injury, then he is exempted from the above rule provided he informs his Section Head within three (3) days from date of illness or injury about the cause of his absences.
Tardiness is coming late for work from a minute to thirty (30) minutes after the start of an employee’s regular work hours. Tardiness incurred within the six-month period is subject to proportional deduction from salary and to administrative sanctions.
When an employee is late for more than 30 minutes either in th morning or in the afternoon, he/she shall be considered absent fo one-half day.
Absences without approved leave applications incurred within six (6) months are subject to administrative action.
