Institutional Learning Outcomes

Loyal to its service commitment, UL, cognizant of its caring nature is, thus, expected to realize its goal of holistic transformation of the young for their personal growth in pursuit of local as well as national development.

The Institutional Learning Outcomes are conceived to form the acronym UL CARES. All students are expected to possess the following:

  1. Upright Living – Act purposefully and effectively; and make reasoned judgments and responsible commitments.
  2. Life-Long Learning – Strive to improve continually the right knowledge, skills, values/attitudes; and seek change to better his living conditions and the society for sustainable existence.
  3. Critical Thinking – Solve problems using informed judgment, creativity, and critical thinking.
  4. Academic Competency – Demonstrate professional and academic integrity, attitudes, and work ethics necessary for personal and professional growth and success.
  5. Research and Technical/Technological Proficiency – Use appropriate research techniques to interpret and synthesize information; and exude adeptness and expertise in his chosen field of specialization.
  6. Environment/Global Stewardship – Manifest appreciation and interaction with the environment as a “real life” learning laboratory; recognize the importance of globalization in developing a broadened world perspective; and view themselves as community contributors.
  7. Social and Cultural Understanding – Possess awareness, understanding and appreciation of the interconnectedness of the social and cultural dimensions within and across local, national and global communities.
