Former University of Luzon Golden Tiger Michael Lambino Earns Back-to-Back Player of the Game Recognition in Pro League Debut

A strong start to a professional basketball career came from former University of Luzon Golden Tiger Michael Lambino, who was recognized as the Player of the Game in his debut game as a professional league player in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

Mr. Michael Lambino, a graduate of the University of Luzon, recently joined Pasig City MCW Sports and competed in his professional league debut against Bacolod on June 8, 2026. His performance earned him recognition as the Player of the Game, marking an impressive start to his professional basketball career.

Lambino continued his strong showing in Pasig City MCW Sports’ game against Rizal Xentromall Golden Coolers on June 11, 2026, where he was again recognized as the Player of the Game, giving him back-to-back Player of the Game recognition in his first two professional league games. He recorded 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 7-of-12 shooting from the field in Pasig’s 92–65 victory.

His performance also highlights how collegiate sports can help prepare student-athletes for opportunities beyond graduation. Through basketball, UL student-athletes develop practical skills, teamwork, discipline, and competitiveness that can support their career development and future pursuits.
