University of Luzon CONM Department Head Accepted for Oral Presentation at ICPHN 2026

Research in public health and nursing continues to strengthen knowledge sharing and professional education at the University of Luzon, with two research abstracts by College of Nursing and Midwifery, Department Head Jane Marffy L. Llamas has been accepted for oral presentation at the 4th International Conference on Public Health and Nursing 2026 (ICPHN 2026).
The accepted research covers public health preparedness and the experiences of Filipino nursing graduates working as caregivers abroad. The study “Risk Communication Practices and Preparedness of Barangay Health Workers in Three Selected Flood-Prone Barangays of Lingayen, Pangasinan” examines risk communication practices and preparedness among barangay health workers in flood-prone communities.
Meanwhile, “The Unseen Struggles of Filipino Caregivers as Nursing Graduates in Israel: A Nursing Perspective on their Reluctance to Return Home” examines the experiences of Filipino caregivers who are nursing graduates and their reluctance to return home.
The accepted abstracts are scheduled for oral presentation on July 30–31, 2026, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, providing an avenue for the researchers to share their findings with fellow professionals and researchers.
The research contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through work that addresses health concerns and strengthens professional knowledge. The studies advance SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by providing research-based insights related to community preparedness and nursing practice. They also support SDG 4: Quality Education by promoting research, professional education, and knowledge sharing in the nursing field.
