University of Luzon Prepares for an AI-Driven Future Through AI Readiness Forum 2026

Preparing educators and academic institutions for emerging technologies remains an important part of strengthening higher education. This effort was reflected in the University of Luzon’s participation in the AI Readiness Forum 2026: Preparing Higher Education for an AI-Driven Future, held on May 25, 2026, at WCC ATC.

Representing UL was Dr. Diosdado C. Caronongan, Dean of the College of Computer Studies, who joined educators, academic leaders, and other stakeholders in discussions on the growing role of artificial intelligence in education. The forum provided opportunities to explore how AI can support teaching, learning, research, and institutional development.

The discussions were further enriched by the participation of CHED Regional Office I Director Dr. Cherrie Ancheta-Diego, who joined fellow education leaders in examining AI readiness and responsible technology use. Ms. Charis Christelle Go, President of Berkeley School in Baguio City, and Engr. Leonora Quarte, Education Supervisor II of CHED Regional Office I, also shared insights on innovation, AI adoption, and the skills needed for future-ready educational institutions.

For the University of Luzon, engagements such as this help strengthen its educational strategies and technological capabilities while giving its academic leaders opportunities to learn from current developments. These efforts support the integration of new technologies into education while keeping responsible and effective use at the heart of digital transformation.

The growing role of artificial intelligence in education highlights the need for institutions to prepare learners and educators for changes in the digital environment. This initiative contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by encouraging responsible technology use and continued development in higher education. Through innovative educational strategies, new learning approaches, and greater awareness of AI’s role in teaching and research, the forum advances SDG 4: Quality Education.
