University of Luzon Participates in Pilot Implementation of the Career Stage Affirmation System

Teacher development remained at the center of professional learning as University of Luzon joined the Pilot Implementation of the Career Stage Affirmation System for private school institutions, reinforcing its commitment to quality teaching and continuous professional growth.
The three-day workshop was conducted from May 26 to 28, 2026, providing participants with opportunities to strengthen their understanding of performance assessment and career progression within the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers. The engagement featured orientation sessions, discussions, and system walkthroughs designed to support professional education and align educational strategies with national teaching standards.
Held in Makati City, the activity gathered teachers, school leaders, Teacher Education Institution specialists, union representatives, and other education stakeholders. Representing the University of Luzon were Dr. Imelda E. Cuartel, Dean of the College of Education; Dr. Joseph Alain G. Gador, Vice Principal of the Senior High School Department; Prof. Claire C. Arenas, Prof. Jhared C. Calimlim, Prof. Kimberly S. Delgado, Prof. Prince Ryan E. Macaraeg, Prof. Joerom D. Onofre, Prof. Mariphie C. Osian, Mr. Ronald Jr. R. Padlan, Prof. Rizel B. Padua, Prof. John Norman C. Rodriguez, and Mr. Rhean Mark O. Urayan.
Throughout the workshop, resource speakers introduced the Teacher Education Council’s initiatives, discussed the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers, and guided participants through the Career Stage Affirmation System. These sessions strengthened professional competence while supporting educational reform through evidence-based teaching practices and structured performance assessment.
This participation reflects the University’s continuing commitment to strengthening educational strategies and advancing excellence in professional education. It contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education by promoting professional training, educational reform, and lifelong learning that enhance teaching quality and professional competence. It also advances SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by fostering collaboration among educational institutions, government agencies, and education stakeholders in support of meaningful education reform and sustainable development.
