ULCONM Faculty Share Expertise in International Expert Lecture Series in Indonesia

Strengthening international academic collaboration and advancing healthcare education, faculty members of the University of Luzon participated as invited International Expert Lecturers during the Expert Lecture Series hosted by Poltekkes Kemenkes Bengkulu, Indonesia, on May 18, 2026.

Serving as speakers from were ULCONM faculty members Omarie Kelly Umangay, Jelyn C. Soria, and Kyla Mae B. Palazo, who shared their expertise during the international lecture series. Prof. Umangay presented “Nursing Perspectives in Diabetes Mellitus Management: Recent Advances and Global Implications,” while Ms. Palazo discussed “United Against Diabetes Mellitus: Strengthening Prevention and Community Awareness,” and Ms. Soria delivered “Preparedness of Independent Midwives in the Initial Management of Postpartum Hemorrhage.” highlighting evidence-based approaches to diabetes prevention, maternal care, and community health education.

The activity promote academic exchange, professional education, and meaningful learning across borders. It reflected the University’s commitment to academic excellence and professional training while creating opportunities for faculty members to exchange expertise with international peers. It also strengthened institutional partnerships that broaden global perspectives, support student learning, and contribute to the continuous advancement of healthcare education.

This international academic engagement demonstrates how global collaboration strengthens education and healthcare beyond borders. Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, it advanced SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by promoting evidence-based diabetes management and enhancing maternal health through nursing and midwifery education. It supported SDG 4 (Quality Education) by strengthening professional education, fostering knowledge exchange, and enriching learning experiences for students and faculty. It also reinforced SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by deepening international collaboration between the University of Luzon and Poltekkes Kemenkes Bengkulu, creating lasting opportunities for academic cooperation and shared expertise.
