The University of Luzon proudly celebrates a significant achievement in international education as Ms. Ralph Zen Francisco, a third-year Nursing student and the University’s first Erasmus+ Student Mobility Scholar, completes her final duty assignment at the Emergency Room as a part of her hospital training rotation in Poland.

As part of her academic and professional journey, Ms. Francisco recently completed her first hospital duty under the supervision of Dr. Monika Borek at Wielospecjalistyczny Szpital w Ostrowcu Świętokrzyskim in Poland. This milestone marks an important step in her development as a future healthcare professional and reflects the growing global opportunities available to University of Luzon students.

Assigned to the Emergency Room, Ms. Francisco gained valuable hands-on experience by performing ECG procedures, intravenous (IV) insertion, and observing the use of the highly advanced LUCAS Automatic CPR Device, an innovative life-saving technology designed to deliver high-quality automated chest compressions during cardiac emergencies. Exposure to these state-of-the-art medical practices provided Ms. Francisco with deeper insights into global standards in emergency and critical care nursing. Through these experiences, she was able to apply her classroom knowledge in actual patient care settings while learning from healthcare practitioners in an international context.

More than a personal accomplishment, her participation in the Erasmus+ Student Mobility Program demonstrates the University’s commitment to providing quality education and global learning opportunities that prepare students for the demands of an increasingly interconnected world. The experience allows Ms. Francisco to expand her knowledge, develop cultural competence, and strengthen her professional skills beyond national borders.

This achievement supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by preparing future nurses with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to deliver quality healthcare services and promote patient well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education by providing students with international learning experiences that enhance their academic and professional development, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through the collaboration between educational institutions and healthcare organizations, fostering global partnerships that create opportunities for knowledge exchange, cultural understanding, and professional growth.

Through global partnerships and experiential learning opportunities, the University of Luzon continues to empower students to become competent, compassionate, and globally minded professionals who can make meaningful contributions to healthcare and society.
