The University of Luzon continued to strengthen its internationalization efforts as Dr. Carmelo John E. Vidal participated in Day 4 of the International Staff Mobility 2026 program through a visit to YPPI High School in Surabaya, Indonesia, on May 7, 2026.

The visit focused on fostering academic collaboration and exploring opportunities for future partnerships between University of Luzon and YPPI. During the engagement, Dr. Vidal held productive discussions with representatives of YPPI, an educational institution that manages schools across various levels of education. The meeting centered on possible areas of cooperation, knowledge sharing, and initiatives that can further enhance educational development and international engagement.

Beyond the formal discussions, Dr. Vidal also had the opportunity to visit YPPI’s elementary school department, where he interacted with young learners in a warm and inspiring exchange. The visit provided valuable insights into the institution’s learning environment and educational practices while highlighting the universal role of education in shaping future generations.

The activity underscored the significance of building global academic connections that transcend geographical boundaries. Through meaningful dialogue and cultural exchange, both institutions gained opportunities to explore shared goals and identify potential avenues for collaboration that promote educational excellence and mutual growth.

This engagement supports the University’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education by encouraging the exchange of educational best practices and strengthening learning opportunities through international cooperation. It also advances Sustainable Development Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals by fostering relationships that contribute to sustainable and mutually beneficial collaborations among educational institutions worldwide.

As the International Staff Mobility Program in Indonesia comes to end, the University of Luzon remains dedicated to expanding its global network, promoting cross-cultural understanding, and cultivating partnerships that enrich the academic experience of the Luzonian community. Through initiatives such as these, the University continues to build bridges that connect education, innovation, and international cooperation.
