UL College of Nursing and Midwifery Dean Recognized as Keynote Speaker for the 4th Global Nursing Congress 2026

The University of Luzon proudly congratulates the Dean of the College of Nursing and Midwifery, Prof. Dr. Jordan H. Llego as he was recognized as a Keynote Speaker for the 4th Global Nursing Congress 2026, held on April 27–28, 2026, at Kingsford Hotel, Parañaque City, Manila.
As one of the featured speakers in this gathering, Dean Llego delivered his keynote address entitled, “Nurses at the Frontlines of Planetary Health: Thriving Together in a Changing World,” highlighting the critical role of nurses in addressing the growing health challenges brought about by climate change, environmental degradation, disasters, food insecurity, infectious diseases, and population displacement. In his presentation, Dean Llego emphasized that planetary health is no longer a distant environmental concern but a present nursing reality. He underscored how nurses directly witness the effects of environmental and social changes on individuals, families, and communities through their work in healthcare institutions, schools, and public health settings. His message reinforced the idea that nurses are not only caregivers but also frontline leaders, advocates, educators, and stewards of health who play a vital role in building healthier and more resilient communities.
The recognition reflects Dean Llego’s continuing contributions to nursing education, research, leadership, and global professional engagement. It also highlights the University of Luzon’s commitment to academic excellence and its efforts to cultivate healthcare professionals who are responsive to emerging global health issues and capable of making meaningful contributions that supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by promoting awareness of global health challenges and advancing healthcare leadership, SDG 4: Quality Education through the dissemination of knowledge and professional expertise, and SDG 13: Climate Action by emphasizing the role of healthcare professionals in addressing the health impacts of environmental and climate-related issues.
