UL College of Accountancy Promotes Financial Literacy Through FLAMES Outreach Seminar
Posted on 10th of Jun 2026 by UL AdministratorThe University of Luzon – College of Accountancy, in partnership with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) – North Luzon Regional Office, successfully conducted its flagship outreach program, FLAMES: Financial Literacy through Accounting, Management, and Economics for Sustainability, on March 12, 2026.
Anchored on the seminar topic, “The Role of BSP in the Economy: Know Your Money and Personal Financial Management,” the event aimed to strengthen financial literacy among the youth and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Through informative discussions and practical insights, participants gained a deeper understanding of financial management, responsible money handling, and the important role of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in maintaining economic stability and promoting financial inclusion.
The seminar served as a valuable platform for empowering participants with essential financial knowledge and skills necessary for making informed economic decisions. By promoting financial awareness and responsible financial practices, the initiative contributed to fostering economic sustainability and strengthening financial resilience within the community.
A highlight of the event was the participation of resource speakers Ms. Nysa Lyn A. Marzan and Ms. Zaira May P. Mendoza from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas – North Luzon Regional Office. Their expertise and engaging presentations provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of personal financial management and the significance of financial literacy in achieving long-term economic well-being.
