Posted on 12th of Mar 2026 by UL AdministratorThe University of Luzon (UL), in a steadfast demonstration of its commitment to humanitarian service and public health, successfully concluded the 41st iteration of the Pledge 25 and Mass Blood Donation on March 11 at the UL Estadio. Held from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM in close coordination with the Philippine Red Cross, the event operated under the evocative theme “Share Blood, Share Love.” This long-standing initiative serves as a cornerstone of the university’s community outreach program, reinforcing the critical necessity of voluntary blood donation in sustaining the region’s medical reserves. The mobilization was characterized by a high degree of organization and a palpable spirit of volunteerism, drawing participants from across all academic departments to contribute to a cause that transcends the boundaries of the classroom.
The success of this life-saving initiative is a testament to the strong sense of responsibility and service inherent in the student body. Across various disciplines, students willingly stepped forward to donate, reflecting the institution’s overarching commitment to humanity and public service. By participating in such significant numbers, these Luzonians embodied the core values of civic duty that the university seeks to instill in every learner. Their disciplined and enthusiastic participation provided a robust foundation for the day’s activities, highlighting the university’s collective dedication to addressing urgent societal needs through direct, life-saving action and community engagement.
The University of Luzon officially confirms that the 41st Pledge 25 Mass Blood Donation resulted in the collection of 173 blood bags. This substantial output is a direct reflection of the collective generosity and unified strength inherent within the entire university community. Such an achievement would not have been possible without the selfless contributions of individual donors, whose willingness to give serves as a primary testament to the compassion of the student body. The institution extends its sincere appreciation to the organizers, student volunteers, and medical professionals whose meticulous coordination ensured a systematic and safe execution of the drive. These efforts provide essential support to local medical facilities and offer a lifeline to patients requiring critical transfusions, thereby strengthening the regional healthcare infrastructure.
This initiative is a clear manifestation of the University of Luzon’s integration of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its institutional culture. Specifically, the blood drive directly advances SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by ensuring a stable supply of blood products for the community and promoting a culture of health-consciousness among Luzonians. Furthermore, the collaboration between the university and the Philippine Red Cross aligns with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, demonstrating how institutional synergy can amplify social impact. Through these sustained efforts, the University of Luzon continues to fulfill its role as a catalyst for positive community transformation and a guardian of public welfare.
