University of Luzon Harmonics Secures Gold and Fourth Place at Choral Festival
Posted on 14th of Sep 2025 by UL AdministratorThe University of Luzon Harmonics, the institution’s esteemed choral group, has brought home significant accolades from the recent Pangasinan Choral Festival Competition. Held on September 13-14, 2025, at the Calasio Sports Complex, the competition saw the group awarded a Golden Diploma in the Mixed Choir Category and a fourth-place finish in the Grand Prix Qualifiers. This achievement is particularly notable as it marks the choir’s inaugural participation in a major competitive festival, signaling a powerful beginning for the talented Luzonians.
The journey to this distinction was one of dedicated perseverance. From their initial performance to the final day, the choir demonstrated remarkable skill and artistic integrity, earning them a coveted spot in the Grand Prix. While they did not claim the top position, their fourth-place standing among a field of highly talented choirs is a testament to their hard work and dedication. The group expressed profound gratitude for the opportunity to share the stage and be part of a vibrant celebration of musical artistry. Their performance was further elevated by the incredible percussion accompaniment provided by Ron and Lance.
The University of Luzon Harmonics extends its deepest thanks to the organizers of the Pangasinan Choral Festival for providing the platform to showcase their talents. This milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering dedication and expertise of their Maestra, Angel Jessica Untalan, whose leadership shaped the group into a formidable ensemble. The choir also expresses heartfelt appreciation to the University of Luzon for its steadfast support, which enabled them to pursue and realize this significant accomplishment.
This achievement by the University of Luzon Harmonics aligns directly with several key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) championed by the United Nations. By fostering artistic talent and providing a platform for cultural expression, the university contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education, which seeks to promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, including the development of non-academic skills. Furthermore, the group’s participation in a local festival reinforces SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, which encourages the preservation of cultural heritage and promotes community engagement. The collaborative effort between the students, their Maestra, and the university administration also embodies the spirit of SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, highlighting how collaboration and shared vision are crucial for achieving ambitious targets and fostering a supportive, thriving community.
