University of Luzon Delegates Engage in Benchmarking Visit to UP Diliman and UP Los Baños
Posted on 4th of Jul 2025 by UL AdministratorA delegation from the University of Luzon’s Center for Pangasinan Studies conducted a two-day benchmarking visit to the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) and the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) from July 3 to July 4, 2025. This initiative underscores the University of Luzon’s commitment to fostering academic partnerships and strengthening research collaboration.
The University of Luzon delegation, spearheaded by Dr. Jen Joson, UL’s Research Director, comprised Prof. Angel Reyna Jr., Director for International Relations; Prof. Alvin Carillo; Prof. Maria Theresa Bianzon; and Prof. Darwin Juguilon.
Upon their arrival at UP Diliman on July 3, the Luzonian delegates received a warm reception from Dr. Percival Almoro, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Ma. Theresa T. Payongayong, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Discussions during their visit focused on best practices in joint research collaboration, the integration of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into academic programs, and other institutional initiatives that resonate with the missions of both universities and their dedication to community engagement. The University of Luzon extends its sincere appreciation to the UP Diliman officials for their gracious hospitality and the insightful exchange of ideas.
Following their engagements at UP Diliman, the delegation proceeded to UP Los Baños, where they were hosted by UPLB Chancellor Jose V. Camacho Jr., for the second day of their benchmarking activities on July 4.
These collaborative efforts align with several key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting excellence in higher education and research; SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by fostering inter-university collaboration for sustainable development; and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, by enhancing research capabilities and knowledge sharing for innovation. The University of Luzon remains dedicated to these global objectives, empowering Luzonians to contribute meaningfully to a sustainable future.
