The City Government of Dagupan and University of Luzon Launch Inclusive Education Program for BJMP Inmates

In a groundbreaking step toward inclusive education, the University of Luzon is set to welcome 30 BJMP inmates from Dagupan City into its academic community in the coming semester of SY 2024-2025. This pioneering initiative, led by the College of Computer Science and the College of Business Administration, will deliver courses through online and modular learning formats, specially designed to meet the unique needs of these students.

The initiative is supported by the City Government of Dagupan’s “Scholar ng Bayan” program, under Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, which fully funds the education of these inmates, providing them with an opportunity for higher learning despite their circumstances. This sponsorship reflects a commitment to creating opportunities for personal growth and positive change, offering the students a pathway to skill development and a future beyond confinement. Prof. Daniel Padrid is leading the orientation sessions to guide the new scholars, providing them with essential information, setting expectations, and helping them prepare for the unique structure of their studies.
