Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information System

The Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information Systems (BSAIS), formerly B.S. in Accounting Technology, program at the College of Accountancy is a four-year degree designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to integrate accounting practices with information technology. The program combines core accounting principles with advanced information systems, preparing students for the increasingly technology-driven world of modern accounting.

This course offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers a wide range of subjects, including financial accounting, management accounting, auditing, taxation, and financial management. In addition to these traditional accounting topics, the program incorporates key areas of information technology, such as database management, business process automation, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, information systems auditing, and systems analysis and design.

Students are trained to utilize modern accounting software and tools that are essential for efficient accounting practices in both the public and private sectors. The program also emphasizes the importance of data integrity, security, and system implementation to ensure the reliability of financial reporting.

Through a combination of classroom instruction, practical exercises, and hands-on experience, students gain proficiency in accounting software, data analytics, system integration, and IT project management. The curriculum is designed to develop students’ ability to solve complex accounting problems using technology, enhance decision-making processes, and contribute to the digital transformation of accounting practices.

Upon graduation, students are well-prepared for roles as accounting information systems specialists, IT auditors, ERP consultants, business analysts, and other positions that require expertise in both accounting and information technology. Graduates are also eligible to pursue further professional certifications in accounting and information systems, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

This program prepares students not only for entry-level positions but also for leadership roles in an evolving digital economy, where the demand for professionals who can bridge the gap between accounting and technology is rapidly increasing.
