UL was the only university from outside Alaminos City invited to serve as one of the presenters, giving the institution an opportunity to share its educational and career-related initiatives with the community.
Representing UL were Prof. Petrona Agcaoile, Prof. Restituto Fernandez, Prof. John Norman Rodriguez, Prof. Claire Arenas, and members of the UL Theatre & Dance Company. Their participation highlighted the University’s role in helping students explore career pathways, develop skills, and prepare for future employment.
UL extends its gratitude to the City Government of Alaminos City, under the leadership of City Mayor Arth Bryan C. Celeste, for the invitation. The University also recognizes the Public Employment Service Office, headed by City Government Department Head I and PESO Manager Eleanor T. Bruno, for its efforts to create career and employment opportunities for young people.
Special appreciation is extended to Ms. Lorraine Rosario, a 2009 Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English graduate of UL and a member of the Alaminos City PESO, for helping make the participation possible. Her connection to the University also extends through her father, Engr. Nelson Rosario, UL Head of Maintenance Services.
The congress supports the University’s role in preparing learners for career opportunities and responding to the needs of the labor market. These efforts also contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. SDG 4: Quality Education is supported by helping students explore educational pathways and develop relevant skills, while SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth is advanced by raising awareness of employment opportunities and the demands of the labor market.
Through community partnerships and career-focused activities, the University of Luzon continues to help learners prepare for their chosen professions and future participation in the workforce.
