The University of Luzon, through the College of Liberal Arts and its Alliance of Justice, conducted PROJECT JUSTRIVE on September 25, 2026, in celebration of Rule of Law Month. Guided by the theme, “Driven by Law, Defined by Justice,” the activity encouraged students to understand the role of law in everyday life and recognize their responsibility in building a fair and just society.

The name JUSTRIVE combines “Jus,” a Latin word meaning law, right, or justice, and “Strive,” which means to make a determined effort toward a goal. Together, the name reflects the project’s purpose of deepening legal awareness, standing for what is right, and working toward a fair and just society.

The program featured discussions led by Atty. Jessica D. Briones, J.D., and Prof. Richard Dhean F. Villamor, J.D. Their sessions explored the connection between integrity and fairness, along with the importance of personal growth in making responsible choices.

Atty. Briones discussed how honesty, accountability, and integrity form the foundation of justice. Her discussion emphasized that fairness begins with the values individuals uphold, even when no one is watching.

Meanwhile, Prof. Villamor shared insights on personal growth and the courage to move forward. His discussion encouraged students to reflect on their experiences, recognize their progress, and continue working toward positive change.

These efforts support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through education and the promotion of justice. SDG 4: Quality Education is advanced by extending learning beyond the classroom and strengthening students’ understanding of their rights and responsibilities. SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions is supported by promoting respect for the rule of law, human rights, and accountability.

Through PROJECT JUSTRIVE, the University of Luzon promotes citizenship education by helping students understand human rights, the rule of law, and social responsibility. By connecting legal principles with everyday decisions, UL encourages students to uphold fairness and integrity, act responsibly, and contribute to a society where justice is practiced and respected.
