Nineteen points and a Best Player of the Game recognition marked a strong performance by University of Luzon student-athlete Febwyn Gabriel De Guzman during PSAA Season 3.

A first-year Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) student, De Guzman is a member of the UL Golden Tigers x D’Generals. Earlier that day, he helped his team secure its first win with a 59–45 victory over Philippine Cultural College, contributing to the team’s strong start in the competition.

The team later faced the University of Perpetual Help Altas (UPHSD) in Manila, where De Guzman delivered another notable performance. He scored 19 points and was named Best Player of the Game, reflecting his skills, discipline, and determination on the court.

The matches were part of the Philippine School Athletics Association (PSAA) Season 3 competition held in Manila. De Guzman’s performances contributed to the UL Golden Tigers x D’Generals’ campaign while giving him valuable experience in competitive athletics.

Through opportunities in competitive sports, the University of Luzon supports students in developing abilities that extend beyond the classroom. These experiences help build discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and other skills that contribute to students’ personal and academic development.

Sports and education contribute to broader goals for student development and well-being. The activities support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by encouraging physical activity, healthy habits, and mental resilience. They also advance SDG 4: Quality Education through learning experiences that develop discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and other life skills.

Mr. De Guzman’s performance adds to the experiences of UL student-athletes who represent the University in competitive sports. His efforts show how academic learning and athletic participation can work together in developing well-rounded students.
