University of Luzon CCS Students Join 14th TOPCIT Examination

Practical IT knowledge, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills were put to the test when students from the University of Luzon participated in the 14th Test of Practical Competency in IT (TOPCIT) on July 23, 2026.

TOPCIT is an internationally recognized competency assessment that evaluates students’ practical knowledge, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in computing and information technology. Developed by South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT and the IITP in partnership with CHED, it serves as an international benchmark for job-readiness and challenges participants to apply their knowledge to real-world IT scenarios.

During the 160-minute session, the student delegates tackled challenges involving software development, database design, and project management. The examination gave Luzonians an opportunity to apply their learning while putting their technical skills and professional competence into practice.

The University of Luzon continues to provide learning experiences that prepare students for the demands of the technology industry. Through participation in assessments such as TOPCIT, the University supports practical training and helps students strengthen the skills and qualifications needed for future employment and career development.

Developing future-ready professionals requires learning experiences that connect education with practical skills. Through the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the participation contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education by providing practical training that strengthens students’ learning and professional competence. The experience also advances SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure by strengthening technological capabilities relevant to the evolving IT industry.
