University of Luzon Continues Tradition Through Tiger Walk and General Orientation

The University of Luzon brought together the UL community through the Tiger Walk and General Orientation, continuing an annual tradition that highlights University of Luzon’s identity and community spirit.

The Tiger Walk featured freshmen and transferees alongside students from other year levels, faculty members, and staff. Walking together, members of the UL community took part in a tradition that reflects the shared identity and roaring spirit of Luzonians.

The morning program featured the unveiling of the UL Pillars and Pledge, giving students an opportunity to learn more about the principles and values that guide the University. It was followed by the presentation of the UL Powerhouse. The Key of Responsibility was then turned over by Prof. Tzarita Marie P. Mayo, last academic year’s Overall Chair of University Wide Activities, who was also presented with a Plaque of Appreciation for her service.

The program also featured welcome remarks from Dr. Amalia G. Dela Cruz, overall chair of university wide activities, followed by the College “Roar” Call led by Mr. Luis Santiago Samson III, Director for Student Affairs, and the video presentation of the Four Pillars and Pledge by Prof. Alvin O. Carillo, extension coordinator of CBAHTM. The morning session concluded with Dr. Imelda E. Cuartel, co-host of the university wide activities, delivered the closing remarks. Keeping the program lively and organized throughout, Prof. Anastacio B. Aquino served as the Master of Ceremony, guiding the audience through the day’s activities.

The afternoon session featured a mini concert and games, with performances from the live band, a special number from host and co-host students, and a second live band set. The activities gave students and members of the UL community time to interact and enjoy the program together.

The Tiger Walk and General Orientation supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by creating opportunities for students to learn, participate, and build connections within the University community. SDG 4: Quality Education is advanced through activities that support student learning and development beyond the classroom. SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions is reflected through community participation, shared responsibility, and respectful interaction among Luzonians.
