University of Luzon Departments Welcome Freshmen and Transferee Students Through Various Departmental Orientations

New and returning students across the University of Luzon took part in departmental orientations throughout June and July 2026, gaining important information to help them begin Academic Year 2026–2027 with a clearer understanding of their academic responsibilities and available support.

The series of orientations began with the College of Business Administration, Hospitality and Tourism Management on June 24. The College of Medical Laboratory Science, Pharmacy, and Biology followed on June 26, while the College of Education conducted its orientation on June 29. The College of Computer Studies held its activity on July 2, followed by the College of Accountancy on July 3.

The College of Liberal Arts conducted its orientation on July 6, while the College of Engineering and Architecture held its General Orientation and Calculator Techniques Seminar on July 7. The College of Criminology followed on July 8, and the College of Nursing and Midwifery held its Annual Departmental Orientation on July 15.

Across the different activities, students were introduced to various university services and areas that can support them throughout their academic journey. The orientations covered Student Affairs, International Relations, Academic Policies, Extension Services, Guidance and Counselling, Research Center, Library Services, ULTDC and Scholar ng Bayan, Health and Safety Protocols, Security Services, and Ancillary Services. These discussions helped students become more familiar with the resources, guidelines, and support available to them within the University.

Although the orientations were held separately by each department, they shared the same goal of helping prepare new students to adjust to college life. Department-specific sessions also provided information suited to the students’ respective programs. Discussions covered academic policies, laboratory guidelines, field trips, On-the-Job Training, career opportunities, and professional expectations. These sessions gave students a clearer understanding of their responsibilities while preparing them for their studies and future careers.

The series of departmental orientations supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. SDG 4: Quality Education is advanced by addressing students’ educational needs through academic guidance, learning opportunities, and support services. SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth is supported through career development discussions and preparation for future professional roles. SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions is promoted by encouraging community engagement, responsible participation, and awareness of policies and responsibilities within the University.

Through these activities, the University of Luzon continues to help students understand the opportunities, responsibilities, and support systems that shape their academic experience.
