University of Luzon Faculty Members Deepen Intellectual Property Knowledge Through Seminar and Training

Strengthening research development and knowledge of intellectual property, faculty members from different departments participated in the UL Faculty Seminar and Training on Intellectual Property (IP) on July 14, 2026.
The seminar was held at the AVR, 3rd Floor Library, providing faculty members with a learning opportunity focused on intellectual property rights and their role in protecting research outputs and innovative works.
Organized by the University of Luzon Research Center in collaboration with the UL Graduate School, the seminar featured the theme, “Navigating Intellectual Property: A Guide for Researchers and Innovators.” The session focused on key concepts related to intellectual property and how these can support researchers and innovators in handling their work.
Resource Speaker and Facilitator Atty. Gerald M. Tabadero shared valuable insights on intellectual property rights. His discussion helped participants gain practical knowledge and skills for protecting their research outputs and innovative works.
For the University of Luzon teaching force, the training provided professional education that can help faculty members better understand intellectual property in relation to their academic and research activities. It also supported awareness of how research outputs can be protected while encouraging innovation and the responsible development of new ideas.
Greater knowledge of intellectual property can strengthen research practices and support the responsible development of innovative work. These efforts align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. SDG 4: Quality Education is advanced through professional training that develops faculty knowledge, skills, and professional competence in research practices. SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure is supported by research development, innovation, and greater awareness of intellectual property protection for new knowledge and technologies.
